Castaway Young Musicians

Description

Castaway Sloop Group (Young Musicians) welcomes young people who enjoy making music together, building confidence and friendships that continue across the transitions from school to college and beyond.

Led by professional musicians, the group offers opportunities to make your own music, learn an instrument, play and sing, compose, use music technology and optionally take part in performing in the community and meeting up with other groups of young musicians. Specialist support is available for full participation and access, including additional and complex needs.

Can be linked to afternoon Castaway Youth Theatre 10am– 3pm.

Arts Awards

Young people up to the age of 25 can work towards an Arts Award at all groups at Castaway Goole, helping to develop leadership, communication and creative skills. Find out more about the national Arts Award. Ask staff about how to sign up.

Castaway youth provision is accredited by East Riding through ERCVYS. Castaway Goole is a registered provider of day opportunities for East Riding and North Yorkshire adult services. Castaway Young Musicians is funded by Youth Music.

Staff training and experience

Castaway is run by experienced education and arts professionals. All groups are led by professional artists who are trained in working with people with additional needs, with specialist support workers.

Annual membership: £10

Free taster sessions, followed by charges. Fee subsidies and waivers available.
