Keyworker Services

Mentoring
Providing a regular point of contact and support with personalised mentoring by skilled and experienced staff to support individuals to overcome barriers, progress towards goals and employability support.

Wellbeing, Confidence and Self Esteem development
Support to improve wellbeing, self-esteem and confidence using a range of techniques and open space to talk

  • Non-judgemental space to talk freely and be listened to
  • 1:1 support to identify barriers and personal goals
  • Wellness coaching including development of coping strategies
  • Access to personal development training courses

Training, Employability and Skills Development
Information, advice and guidance based on individual requirements.

  • Help to identify and overcome barriers to training, education and employment
  • Identifying career options meeting individual requirements and skills
  • Support with C.V. writing, job preparation and skill development
  • Address development needs through a range of intervention partners
  • Support disclosing difficult or sensitive issues to an employer
  • Advice to manage health conditions and disabilities
  • Referral on to appropriate services to continue your journey

We also offer an outreach service to other areas of the East Riding.
Access to this service
Appointments could be at Courtyard House or in your local community on an outreach basis.
Ideally your first formal appointment will be at Courtyard House to complete the paperwork for enrolling on the project.

We accept self-referrals as well as those made by professionals, support organisations etc.
These can be by phone (01302 874963) or using the referral form provided.

To prove eligibility for this service users must demonstrate proof of right to live and work in the UK (e.g. Passport, Birth Certificate, Permanent Residency Card)
National Insurance Number will be needed
Proof of being economically inactive (could be benefits letter, letter from the referrer / involved professional or self-declaration) or unemployed


Who this service is for
We cater for all disabilities, no diagnosis is necessary. 
 
We are highly skilled in working with people with learning disabilities and difficulties and mental health issues including those with behaviour that challenges services, as well as individuals with barriers which may result in being economically inactive. 
 
Parent and sibling involvement
Parents and siblings can access this service.
Registered service and regulatory body
Big Ambitions CIC as part of Action towards Inclusion for Your Consortium. (Project is fully funded by European Social Fund and Big Lottery Fund)
Training acquired to support children and young people with SEND and their families
Our key worker Sheena trained and worked as a Registered Nurse for People with Learning Disabilities for over 20 years, including respite care, long stay care and community nursing. She also has a B.Sc (Hons) in Community Health Nursing (Learning Disabilities) and PGCE (teaching qualification) specialising in Learning Difficulties. She is a Mental Health First Aider, trained in Safeguarding and holds an enhanced DBS check.

Staff are supported in their role through regular 1:1 supervisions from line manager, case reviews, peer support network within the organisation and opportunities for further training and personal development.
