NHS 111
Description
NHS 111 is a NHS telephone advice service to help to make it easier for you to access local health services.  You can call “111” when you need medical help fast, but it’s not a 999 emergency.  It can also help us to free up 999 and local A&E departments so that they can focus on emergency cases.

NHS 111 is a national service, but Yorkshire Ambulance Service provide the service across Yorkshire and the Humber.
NHS 111 is a fast and easy way to get the right help – wherever you are, and whatever the time.
Access to this service
NHS 111 will get you through to a team of highly-trained advisers, who are supported by experienced clinicians. They will ask you questions to assess your symptoms, and give you the health care advice you need or direct you to the right local service. The NHS 111 team will put you in touch with to the people you need to speak to.

Calls to 111 are free, including mobiles, 24 hours a day

If you are deaf, hard of hearing or speech-impaired you can contact the NHS 111 service using the RNID's text relay services.

If you suffer from a chronic health condition you might find it helpful to prepare a text template and store it in your phone to use when you need it.
