Below are a list of therapy services available to children and young people.

General
Social Communication Difficulties (SCD) Panel
Description
The Social Communication Difficulties (SCD) Panel provides a consultation and diagnostic service for Autism Spectrum Conditions for children and young people up to 18 years of age. The Panel is made up of the following professionals:
•    Consultant Paediatrician
•    Specialist Senior Educational Psychologist (Chair)
•    Speech and Language Therapist
•    Clinical Psychologist

Access to this service
Parents, carers and children are not able to self-refer.

The Panel accepts referrals for assessment from Paediatricians, Educational Psychologists and Speech and Language Therapists. If your child is under 5 and involved with the Portage service we also accept referrals from their Portage worker. If one of these professionals wants to refer your child they will ask you to sign a consent form to enable the Panel members to discuss and share information about your child. The professional is also asked to send a specialist report into the Panel with the consent form
Who this service is for
For children and young people with significant social interaction and social communication difficulties whose behaviour might meet the clinical criteria for an Autism Spectrum Condition.
Parent and sibling involvement
Parents/carers are an integral part of the multi-disciplinary assessment process carried out by professionals to contribute to the reports produced for the SCD Panel. Parents/carers can discuss their presence during assessment activities with the professionals conducting the assessment.
Training acquired to support children and young people with SEND and their families
All professionals who form part of the SCD Panel or who write contributory reports have received training specific to their field.
