A relaxed performance aimed at those on the Autism Spectrum and younger children attending the theatre for the first time. This will include reduced volume levels & low level lighting throughout.

Hull New Theatre - Cinderella

Relaxed performance: specifically designed to welcome people with a learning disability, Down's Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Condition or sensory and communication disorders and their families. There is a relaxed attitude to noise and movement and small changes to the lighting and sound effects.

Cinema Exhibitors Associate (CEA) Card

This is a national card that can be used to verify that the holder is entitled to one free ticket for a person accompanying them to the cinema.

To apply for the card you will need submit proof to show that you meet one or more of the following criteria: Be in receipt of Disability Living Allowance or Attendance Allowance or be a registered blind person.

There is a small charge and you need to print an application form which can be found on the website.

Autism Friendly Cinema Screenings

A number of cinemas run regular autism-friendly film sessions.  The films are shown with low-level lighting and reduced sound-levels and the auditorium is opened before each showing to allow audiences time to familiarise themselves with the space before the start of the film.

The screenings are aimed at both children and adults on the autistic spectrum, along with their carers, families and/or friends, so it is fine for audiences to move around, make noise and take breaks during the film.

Audio Described Screenings

Cinemas do offer special screenings for people with sigh loss and visual impairment. For selected films a narration track is available through special headphones.
