Able and Active Mondays

Description

Sport is for everyone, therefore we provide inclusive sports sessions to help support individuals. These sessions are FREE to attend and are for young people aged 8-18 years!

Able and Active has three main outcomes that are key for children and young people with disabilities:

  1. Fitness - The players will take part in different activities throughout the sessions. This means 1hour and 30 minutes of sporting activity a week and trying a wide range of sporting activity.
  2. Social and friendship - As many of the activities are team games, the players quickly learn team building skills and create friendships, helping to improve listening, communication and honesty.
  3. Independence - By being left at the club by their parents carers, players gain confidence. Many past players have developed and aspired to be team captains and have become volunteers at the session. Players also have the freedom to introduce and suggest other sports they want to do and, if they wish, to explain the sport to the rest of the group. This greatly improves confidence and communication skills.

This session runs every Monday evening at the Tigers Trust Arena, Walton Street, Hull, HU3 6GA. This session is multi-sports-based where we deliver various sports with participants choosing what activities they want to do.

This session is FREE to attend and open for ages 8-19.

If you require any more information please contact millie.sharp@tigerstrust.co.uk or visit tigerstrust.co.uk (external website).

Please contact Millie before attending as there is an online booking system in place due to the current situation with COVID-19.
