Looked After Children's Health Team

Description

The team supports all children/young people with their statutory health assessments for all those children who are looked after by East Riding Local authority, and for those children placed in this area by other local authorities with the exception of Hull Local Authority.

Parking and accessibility
The team is based at Beverley Health Centre, HU17 7BZ and parking is available at the centre. The nurses will mainly visit at home, carers will only be expected to attend the health centre for the initial health assessment with a specialist doctor.
Registered service and regulatory body

This service is run by Humber NHS Foundation Trust, and all staff are registered and trained nurses.

Staff training and experience

The LAC coordinators are both registered nurses, one is a paediatric trained nurse and the other is Learning Difficulty trained. The designated nurse is also a registered nurse and health visitor.

Mondays 9am-5pm

Tuesdays 9am-5pm

Wednesdays 9am-5pm

Thursdays 9am-5pm

Fridays 9am-5pm

The office is staffed from 9-5pm Monday to Friday, however in order to disrupt children’s education most health assessments are completed early evening or Saturday mornings. All assessments are by appointment only. During the Covid pandemic some health assessments have been completed over the telephone.
